Work permit

We are preparing complete applications for work permits, thanks to which an employer receives the document without undue delay.

We apply for a work permit for foreigners on behalf of employers. Our task is to provide the employer with the best solution for the legal employment, prepare documents and submit them to the appropriate agency. During processing of the applications, our specialists act as a trustees representing the company and contacting the office to settle a matter as soon as possible.


In the case of ongoing considerations on the residence cards for foreigners, a work permit is used to legalize work while waiting for the residence card. The purpose of such actions is to ensure the employer’s continuity of legal employment of a foreigner while waiting for a permit for temporary residence and work for a foreigner, that is a residence card. A work permit is also issued to get a work visa.

Types of work permits

type A, when an employee performs work in the Republic of Poland under the agreement with the employer whose office, place of residence, branch, plant or other form of business is located in the territory of the Republic of Poland,

type B, when a person performs functions in the board of a legal entity entered in the register of entrepreneurs or in a joint stock company which branch is located in the Republic of Poland for a period exceeding a total of 6 months during the next 12 months,

type C, when an employee works for a foreign employer and is sent to branches or enterprises of a foreign legal entity located in Poland or a legal entity associated with a foreign employer in accordance with the Law of 26 July 1991 “Personal income tax” for more than 30 days in a calendar year,

type D, when an employee performs work for a foreign employer which does not have a branch, institution or other form of activity in the territory of the Republic of Poland and is delegated to Poland to provide temporary and incidental services (export service),

type E, when an employee works for a foreign employer and is delegated to the territory of the Republic of Poland for a period exceeding 3 months during the next 6 months for a purpose other than that specified in paragraphs 2-4

The most common permit is a type A permit

A type A work permit is required when a foreigner is employed in Poland under an employment contract or a civil law contract. A type A permit is issued on the basis of an application from the entity entrusting the work to a foreigner.

A governor of province (wojewoda) at the place of residence or place of business is the competent authority that has the right to issue a work permit. The validity of the permit is always specified in the document, and its maximum term is 3 years.

It should be noted that a visa issued for work on the basis of a type A permit will be issued for a maximum period of one year. Thus, the permit can be used three times to obtain a work visa as a foreigner.
